Meet Artist,Mindy Bernes
A trained medical laboratory scientist,Mindy did not expect to become an artist.Although she grew up with plenty of artistic influence from family members,her personal art career did not begin until 2004 when she started painting notecards at her kitchen table.She knew then that art Must be part of her life.She began learning at the feet of artist she admired and considers herself to be "community trained." Today,she is an award winning painter and loves all things art.Her medium of choice is oils but also creates works in watercolors,fabrics, and even digitally with a painting app on her computer.She and her husband have five children and are lifelong residents near Decatur.
